Everyone loves “The Good Old Days”…..well, we love “the Good Old Dogs”….the VINTAGE DOGS!! Vintage Dogs are not necessarily OLD dogs, Vintage Dogs are amazing dogs of all ages currently in our shelter that have been waiting a long time to find the right home.
Imagine how sad it must be for them, watching their doggy friends come and go, seeing other dogs getting picked by families, while they sit waiting. Vintage Dogs just wait, hoping that maybe today a family will stop at their kennel and choose them.
Vintage Dogs will be available to approved homes FREE! All Vintage Dogs will be altered, current on all vaccines including rabies, micro-chipped, dewormed AND treated for fleas and ticks. Community support through sponsorship is critical in allowing us to continue the Vintage Dog Program.
It costs JHS an average of $50 per week to care for each and every pet in our shelter. This figure does not include veterinary expenses or medications; it doesn't take long to do the math...the cots for us to care for a dog for just 8 weeks is $400 excluding medication, vet expenses, spay/neuter and vaccines! Many VINTAGE DOGS have been with us 4-6 months; that brings their cost of care to between $800-$1200. So, how can we afford to continue to adopt out our overlooked VINTAGE DOGS fee waived to great homes with outstanding vet references...we CAN'T without your help! The only way that we can continue the VINTAGE DOG PROGRAM is through the generosity of our supporters and donors. Please consider sponsoring a Vintage Dog for only $50. Your donation will go a long way in helping us keep this wonderful, life-saving program going.
Vintage Dog Sponsorship is different from regular Pet Sponsorship. Standard sponsorship is $70 and pays the adoption fee of the chosen pet excluding the microchip. The adopter only pays $20 for their new pet's microchip. Vintage Sponsorship is $50 and although the sponsorship are "given" or dedicated to a specific dog, the money is helping to support the Vintage Program. Dogs that have been with us for extended times and/or are part of the VINTAGE PROGRAM may have multiple sponsorships in order to help offset the cost of their care, thus allowing us to continue the achievement we are so proud of...our policy that no animal will be "put to sleep" because it has been in the shelter too long.
