Schedule Your Pet's Spay/Neuter Online - $10 Deposit Required

We are happy to announce that you can now schedule your pet's spay/neuter surgery online.  We hope this will streamline the process for all.  A $10 non-refundable deposit will be required when scheduling.  Please contact us at: 417-623-3642 with any questions. - Thanks

Want to Volunteer at the Joplin Humane Society?

At the Joplin Humane Society, we are proud to have the support of so many wonderful volunteers. Our dedicated volunteers make a commitment to help our organization by touching the lives of both pets and people every day. Their decision to put their concern for animal welfare into action by offering to donate time is such an important asset to us. We have many opportunities for volunteers at JHS.

Thank you very much for your interest in volunteering with the Joplin Humane Society! Our success depends on YOU! If you are ready to volunteer, there are many opportunities for you to help the animals either at the shelter, at an off-site event or even from home!

​How do I get started?
​Please fill out an online application to begin the process of becoming a JHS Volunteer.  We appreciate your patience as we build and focus our volunteer corps for the betterment of the animals.

What is the process to become a volunteer?

Everyone loves “The Good Old Days”…..well, we love “the Good  Old Dogs”….the VINTAGE DOGS!!  Vintage Dogs are not necessarily OLD dogs, Vintage Dogs are amazing  dogs of all ages currently in our shelter that have been waiting a long time to find the right home. 

Imagine how  sad  it must be for them, watching their doggy friends come and go, seeing other dogs getting picked by  families, while they sit waiting.  Vintage Dogs just wait, hoping that maybe today a family will stop at their kennel and choose them.

Vintage Dogs will be available to approved homes FREE!  All Vintage Dogs will be altered, current on all vaccines including rabies, micro-chipped, de-wormed AND treated for fleas and ticks.   Don’t miss this opportunity to adopt your new best friend FOR FREE and help a dog who surely believes that he or she has been forgotten.  Today is they day that YOU can change their life!
