Opal is a senior blue heeler mix. We think that she is approximately 8 to 11 years old. Opal arrive thin, and is currently on a recovery diet. She's a bit week in the hind end, and her hind legs show signs of muscle wasting. Opal is sweet and affectionate, and quietly likes to hang out next to her favorite people. Opal seems to do well with other dogs, although she does not interact very much, she prefers to lay quietly in the outside area of the kennel on a blanket. She is food motivated, but does not seem to know any commands. She seemed afraid of cats at this time. Opal will need a home with a soft spot to lie down and a nice yard where he can spend some time outside as well. Her new adopters will need to be prepared to deal with the issues that senior dog owners need to face. We think that she would do best in a home with children 12 years of age and older.
